Head Back and High: Senga Nengudi, Performance Objects (1976-2017) at Art + Practice from Sat, Jun 23 to Sat, Aug 25 ( Exhibition )

This show features work by Los Angeles artist Senga Nengudi made since the 1970s, when she brought together abstract sculpture and performance art, constructing environments out of pantyhose, sand, air conditioning parts, and other inexpensive materials. She's also collaborated with David Hammons, Maren Hassinger, and Barbara McCullough, and formed Studio Z, a group of Black artists, dancers, and musicians in conceptual and action art.

The exhibition is curated by Christopher Bedford, Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director of The Baltimore Museum of Art, and BMA Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art Cecilia Wichmann.
