Since its origins in 1947 as the pedagogical wing of the Pasadena Art Museum, the Armory Center for the Arts has continued its mission of excellence in art education for all ages. With its 1989 move to South Pasadena, the Armory expanded its mission, becoming a vital space for the exhibition of contemporary art by its own right. Recent shows have included a major installation by Daniel Buren and several thoughtfully curated group shows highlighting the work of many of today’s most exciting artists.
