B Is For Bad Poetry
Motto, By Pamela August Russell
Author and poet Pamela August Russell’s B Is For Bad Poetry, a new volume of poetry set to be published in October by Sterling Publishing Co. Inc., upends the comedic canon by teasing the seriousness not only out of the mundane experiences of modern life, but also out of high-brow poetic authorship itself. Chiding the notion that poetry should be composed of inaccessible, cryptic verses, Russell gives her readers haiku-like bits of wry humor that poke fun at the absurdity of the commonly accepted institutions and assumptions that enter our everyday lives. FYA posts a few poems for your enjoyment. This is the second in a series of installments by Russell:
Motto
When one door closes
another door opens
onto a cliff.
